FAQs

ITAD & RECYCLING SERVICE AND PROCESS

What is IT Asset Disposal (ITAD) service and why do all companies need it?

ITAD is the secure retirement of old IT equipment. Companies need it to destroy sensitive data, comply with laws, avoid fines, and responsibly recycle e-waste—essential for banks, data centers, general enterprises, universities, and government.

How can I be sure my company's data is completely destroyed?

We use multiple certified methods (wiping, degaussing, physical destruction and shredding) on all data-bearing devices. You receive a formal Certificate of Data Destruction for each asset, providing a legal audit trail for compliance and giving you total peace of mind.

What does a professional IT disposal service look like?

From start to finish, we provide a professional service. This includes on-time, uniformed crews for collection, secure handling, and detailed documentation. We ensure the process is smooth, secure, and fully accountable for your IT, procurement, and sustainability teams.

What's the difference between a Recycler, an ITAD provider, and a Refurbisher?

Think of it like this: a Refurbisher repairs devices for reuse. An ITAD Provider focuses on secure data destruction and asset management. A Recycler breaks down unusable items. We are a single partner that expertly handles all three services.

What happens to our old IT equipment after you take it?

We provide full transparency. You receive a detailed report showing which assets were resold, refurbished, or recycled. We maximize reuse and recycling, ensuring materials are responsibly managed and kept out of landfills, supporting your sustainability goals.

Can we tour your facility to see how you handle our equipment?

Absolutely. We offer both in-person and virtual facility tours. You can see our secure processes, data destruction tools, and recycling operations firsthand, giving you complete confidence in how we manage your IT assets from collection to final processing.

What kind of reporting and certification do you provide?

Based on client request service scope, we provide a range of comprehensive reports, including Certificates of Data Destruction (COD), Detailed Environmental Impact Report, Digital Record (photo and video proof) and serialized asset list. This gives you all the documentation needed for internal audits, compliance, and ESG reporting.

Does a proper IT disposal service actually costing or saving your company money?

A full-service partner recovers financial value from your retired assets through resale and refurbishment, subject to certain type of high-value equipment and condition. This value return can often exceed the service cost, turning a cost center into a value-generating process.

Our company has specific internal policies. Can you accommodate them?

Yes. We offer flexible solutions tailored to your needs, whether you require on-site data destruction, cooperating with your internal staff to handle it, or full off-site processing with recorded evidence. We adapt to your internal compliance and security policies.

What are our legal obligations for data destruction under Hong Kong law?

Under the PDPO (The Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance), your company (as a "data user") must take "all practicable steps" to protect personal data (DPP4) and not keep it longer than necessary (DPP2). This legally requires secure data erasure before disposing of IT equipment. "Reasonable" steps go beyond a simple delete, methods like degaussing, physical destruction (per NIST standards) are recommended. Using a professional, documented service like ours is a clear demonstration of taking these required practicable steps.

Are there specific data destruction methods mandated by law, and is there a mandatory certification?

No international laws (like GDPR) or Hong Kong's PDPO mandate specific tools or shred sizes. Instead, they require you to take "reasonable" and "practicable" steps. We follow globally recognized NIST 800-88 standards offer multiple methods like degaussing, physical destruction and shredding, and provide ensures secure and compliant data destruction with certified audit trails.
